Harlen Hays is a Lead Analytics Advisory Consultant at Cerner based out of Kansas City, MO. He has been with Cerner since December 2008 and supports analytics advisory services, analytics development, and insight generation across multiple services lines including state Medicaid programs. Presently, Harlen’s team is working with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) in the best practice utilization of Medicaid Managed Care Data Analytics Interface workflows.

Harlen received his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and Arts and his Master in Public Health in Occupational and Environmental Epidemiology. He is a graduate of the Cerner Accelerate Leadership Development program.

Harlen has more than 10 years of experience working in the health care industry providing analytics insights and deep research expertise across a variety of sectors. He has an extensive background in research methodologies, analytics strategy, insight development, and population health.  He currently provides this expertise across hospital systems, state government, and employers.  This includes helping state Medicaid programs develop more insight for the data they are gathering and turning it into action.

Additionally, he is an adjunct professor in the Rockhurst University, Helzberg School of Management Master of Science in Business Intelligence and Analytics teaching courses in business intelligence, analytics strategy, and predictive modeling using modern machine learning algorithms.
